Privacy Policy

Cognyse IT Services Private Limited (India), together with its affiliates, subsidiaries, and branch operations in the United States and Canada (collectively, “Cognyse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you when you visit www.cognyse.com, interact with us as a customer or business contact, or otherwise engage with our services (collectively, the “Services”).


This Policy applies to individuals in India, the United States, and Canada, and is designed to meet the requirements of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), applicable U.S. state privacy laws, and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).


1. Who We Are

Cognyse operates through the following entities, each responsible for personal information processed in its respective region:

  • Cognyse IT Services Private Limited — India
  • Cognyse Technology Services Inc. — United States
  • Cognyse Technology Services Inc. — Canada 

References to “Cognyse” in this Policy mean the Cognyse entity responsible for your interaction with us, based on your location or the entity you contract with.


2. Information We Collect

  • Contact and identity information that you provide when contacting us: name, email address, phone number, job title, company name, and mailing address.
  • Engagement information: details you provide when requesting services, submitting an inquiry, applying for a role, or participating in an event, webinar, or campaign.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, pages visited, and referral URLs, collected automatically when you use our website.
  • Cookie data: information collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 5.
  • Business contact data shared with us by our customers, in connection with delivering our IT consulting and cybersecurity services.


3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve our website and Services;
  • To respond to inquiries, provide quotes, and deliver contracted services;
  • To process job applications and manage recruitment;
  • To communicate updates, newsletters, or event invitations where you have consented or as permitted by law;

  • To analyse aggregated, de-identified data to understand trends and improve our Services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. Cookies do not directly identify you as an individual. Most browsers let you manage or disable cookies; doing so may affect certain website functionality. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as no uniform industry standard yet exists.

  • Cognyse group entities in India, the United States, and Canada, for internal business administration and service delivery;

  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.


7. International Data Transfers

As a company with entities and customers in India, the United States, and Canada, Cognyse may transfer personal information among these jurisdictions to operate our business and deliver our Services. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers, including contractual protections with the recipient. By using our Services, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in a country other than your own, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.


8. Data Security and Retention

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by applicable law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

Jurisdiction: India

Governing Law: Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act)

Your Key Rights: Access, correction, erasure, withdraw consent, nominate a representative, and grievance redressal.


Jurisdiction: United States

Governing Law: Applicable state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA and similar)

Your Key Rights: Know/access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit use of sensitive data, and non-discrimination.


Jurisdiction: Canada

Governing Law: Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws

Your Key Rights: Access, correction, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.


10. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children and are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 in India, or under 13 in the United States and Canada, except where a minor is engaged as part of a professional services relationship with appropriate consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.


11. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.


12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Effective Date” at the top of this Policy will indicate when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
